Wow, that's great! (Or bad? Have you had enough?) Jax could use some rain - the Beaches side, anyway - but the clouds split right over us on their way southward. Keeping my fingers crossed for the next band.

Oh man! Yesterday, we all had make run for it as a gigantic wall of rain came racing south in the Jungle Terrace/Tyrone area, around 3:30 pm. it was torrential for about 20 minutes. Then later, as I drove down Park St., it became increasingly dry, until I hit Sunset Dr. along the bay and -- nothing. I had been thinking we wouldn't be able to go to the beach, but there was not a sign of a single drop over the bridges to the Gulf Blvd. The beach was actually lovely, w/ very clear water and not too much heat because of the clouds.

    Talk about patchy!

We got another gully washer yesterday. I was at the local Christmas in July bazaar demonstrating making a platter til 3pm when the event was over. Just as the event was over and all the vendors and demonstrators need to leave the skies opened up and the rains came down with much lightening and thunder. Very bad timing for sure...

My ditches have been full for weeks and the back third of my yard is still under water and so badly in need of a mow but you can't mow when its wet.

Pea, how do you(?) keep the biting insects from breeding in the ditches? Seems you are doomed to be accosted!

Yet one more thing keeping us inside this time of year. Some mosquitoes can breed in a spoonful of water, so there is no way to scout & eliminate every potential breeding place.

I'm so relieved to see it's rained in St. Pete!! I'm away on vacation. I was worried I might have to go back to a yard filled with dead plants lol.

It has not rained here in about 2 weeks. I wish it would rain.

    Lots of rain in Sarasota.

No rain here, either, Glenn. :(

And no rain here, either. I see that the west coast of Florida is getting probably more than they want... meanwhile, Jax Beach has been pretty dry lately.

I'd ship all of y'all in the rain free part of the state my ditch water if the shipping didn't cost so much...i don't think i have been able to mow my ditch in at least 2 months and it has been three weeks since my back 1/3 of my yard was dry enough to get a mower in without bogging down in the wet ground.

Haha - today it was raining hard on 1 side of our building and barely drizzling on the other...

Carolb, that is funny! I've experienced that once before, a long time ago in Ocala.

Whine, whine, whine (me)... we are getting lots of rain at this very minute. YAY!

No rain here for a few weeks! It all around us but keeps missing us. We're getting lots of thunder and lightning every afternoon/early evening but no rain comes of it. With this heat, everything is getting a tad crispy.

That is exactly how it is here. The storms March right up to me then stop. Many of my weeds are dieing and the grass is crispy.

It finally rained. I got about a half of a inch. Yay

Yes, a little rain here, too. I take credit for it--I deliberately took my car to the car wash today.

Glenn's weeds must be singin' in the rain today!

It has been rain on and off since about noon. It is pouring now.;)

I had to go into work for some training this afternoon and while there it was storming like crazy. Thunder, lightning and torrential rain. I was so excited, finally rain! I left the hospital for my 5 minute drive home, passing flooded ditches and going through water covered streets. I was so optimistic....until I pulled into our development. It hadn't rained a drop!!!!! Seriously?! @#&%!!!!!!

We got rain during the night. Two storms came thru the first one before midnight and the second after. The first on had one large thunderclap before the rain and then settled down to a little rumble. If there was thunder for the second i slept thru it, i woke just enough to hear the rain on the shutters and drifted back asleep.

Sitting at the tiki bar 3 minutes from home and it started pouring. Thinking that surely, we have to be getting it at home. Guess what....we finally got rain! Woo hoo! This is one happy camper :)

Today was mostly a washout. And my headache has come with the rain. This summer has been so wet.

On tonight's local news, the weatherman said that Jacksonville is nine inches above normal for the year. More rain is forecast for tomorrow, and starting even earlier.
