Rose ID question

Many of the older houses in this area have roses that have been blooming for a couple of weeks now here in central NH that I am wondering about a general ID for. They are quite large shrubs, sometimes scrambling into nearby large shrubs or small trees, and the roses are in clusters of small, very double, intensely pink blooms. I haven’t found one in a spot where I can pull over to take a photo, but will add a photo if I can. In the mean time I am hoping that someone may have an idea of at least the class of rose they might be. I doubt that they are a named variety, but are more likely a pass along plant. They would need to be hardy to something like -20F.
