**APPLIANCE HELP**

Has anyone recently purchase an appliance set that they are happy with? Specifically a refrigerator. I was leaning towards a KitchenAid I liked but after reading reviews I am hesitant. Thanks

I love my Miele. I would no hesitate to get the Thermador- they are similar refrigerators from the same Turkish factory.

I have the counter depth French door from Kitchen Aid. Had it in my previous house with good luck so I put it in my new build. No complaints!

Just one person’s experience, but I have a counter depth KA French door refrigerator purchased as part of last years’s remodel. It replaced a full size 8-10 year old KA that is now in the garage. With the exception of my cooktop, all my appliances are KA and I’ve never had a service call. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase again. Many people here also highly recommend Bosch appliances, but I have no personal means of comparison.

I can tell you that I would never purchase an Electrolux fridge ever again. Constant service calls. We purchased a Jenn Aire package a year ago and I’ve been happy with it. Our builder had a discount that made it cheaper than the Kitchen Aid (same manufacturer), but we also got a 2 year warranty and they’re a bit nicer than KA. I got the French door fridge with the dispenser on the inside, which I really like.

Nicole, the best advice is to choose what appears best to you in features, appearance and price...period. One person's KitchenAid dream (or other brand) is another's nightmare. It can drive you bonkers. Get what seems to fit your needs most. Trust me, I've been through the research circus when shopping for appliances.

My daughter got all KA. She’s had continuous problems with the dishwasher. The oven never worked and they wouldn’t replace it but made her go through dragged out repairs. The refrigerator has worked without problem, but the stainless steel panels are covered with rust spots. Regardless of brand, I would not recommend a set. The reliability of a brand is not consistent across all the different products they make in many cases.

We just purchased a Fisher & Paykel. It is a 33" counter depth and it is a dream. Easy to clean the stainless steel, no big handle on the front (just a side handle, but you can get a front handle). Holds my produce nicely and many racks/shelves/etc for the small space. Love it! Would buy again.

I had the 5-door KA, 10+ service calls, ended up replacing it as it was costing me a fortune in spoiled food. Read the reviews (not on the KA website but elsewhere.) Other models may be okay but the 5-door definitely has issues.

Oh and my KA dual range also had a service issue within 2 years of purchasing.

I would get the best product in each category. KA or other Whirlpool products only from Costco using their Citi Visa for a 4yr warranty. Only a Miele or Bosch dw.

IMO there is no one maker that makes everything well choose appliance for how you use them in plain old stainless so they all look good together and forget the sets . I do agree Bosch makes the best DWs

I have a KA counter depth that I’ve been very happy with, it holds as much as my previous 26 cf unit. Bosch DWs do a great job of washing, but I’ve found out that due to proprietary issues many service people will not even look at them. The way things are made now servicing should be a concern.

I have a bottom-freezer, single door fridge from KA, and am very happy with it (got it last summer). I agree not to think in terms of buying a "set" of appliances -- get the features you want and don't want in a reasonable quality appliance, without worrying about matching brands.

We just got the Ge profile counter depth while I’ve only had it about a week I really like it. Adjustable shelves and adjustable door bins. I also loved the kitchenaid especially the handles but their stove had terrible reviews so I went with the Ge on that too.
