Wow... your Silk Kimono is so pretty. I was kind of laughing when I read your comment “driveway plants” :-) I don’t have any hostas to spare except those undulata as driveway plants, but if I keep going on like this I can see it happening rather soon.

Iam really glad I bought silk Kimono would you think it does well in deep shade or does it need some sun?

i do need some hostas for deep shade... running out of part shade space

My Silk Kimono. Pic taken May 25. Don't know how well it would do in deep shade. Mine gets a few hours of mid-morning sun, then a bit more in late afternoon.

Don - great bed! Is this bed finished in terms how the hostas will grow in when they are mature? By that what I am trying to ask is ... will kimono and the Hosta in the corner eventually touch? Will you still add hostas? How do you plan things out?

Hello sunnywood, thank you for sharing your summation. Is it as a good grower as SS? Might have to plan for it than a different spot as I have 3 SS and they are in year 3 already mind blowing how big they got

Claudia, Silk Kimono has been an easy, reliable grower for me, not super fast, but steady. I like the graceful, ruffled edges and think you made a good choice to get one!

Claudia, thanks! In my view, there's a spot for one or two more hostas in this bed. Silk Kimono should get pretty close to touching the hosta next to it, close enough that I would never try to cram another one between them. This is the most haphazard bed I have; I just started planting hostas. That's why there are so many white-margined plants in this bed: no planning lol. Despite all the white variegation, I like the way it looks and am just enjoying watching them mature.
