Well, then it's most likely 'Striker'. They do produce leaves like that, but that 'Solid Gold' pup is something else! When and if I get it like pictured, I will leave that pup alone and let it develop fully. Then maybe in a few years, I'll separate them.

You will get the plant you purchased, the two I purchased were the same as the picture. Good luck with them :-)

Nancy, That's what I'm really hoping for. :-) Sorry I purchased it before you. I'll keep you in mind for future pups if I am able to grow the Solid Gold. That's a big if. Also the Solid Gold may be unstable and still be a Streaker. Streaker is know for doing that.

We are told that peaty mixes are so bad. Well all of the sans I purchased in stores and on line comes in a peaty mix and they have phenomenal root systems. The fault lies with us who over water and then perhaps give it a too cold environment to live in. Of course we can't compete with a green house environment.

Manuel, I can't give up my computer. Can't get into phones being a small computer. I love the big screen of my computer system.

Stush, I love my laptop, and do most of my web surfing on it, but it's easier to post a picture from my phone. Otherwise I would have to sync my phone to the laptop, nd then scroll through thousands of pictures to find the one I want

I keep an extensive amount of pictures of almost everything. It's free and easy. Keep in folders of name date etc. Backed up on sim drives which are so cheap now. It's beyond my understanding how powerful computers have become.

Stush you are a lucky man - two different plants in one :) 'Solid Gold' is beautiful !! It also happened to me when my 'Golden Hahnii' produced two white (total albino) instead of standard rosette. Unfortunately they didn't survive ...

Stush I haven't been on here as much lately but do check. Just saw this. Anyway, GREAT FIND!! As you know I am a big fan of hahnis!! (Mainly because my space is limited and they are very nice!). Hope my unusual ones pup this year and I can spread them around.

Ewa, Sorry to hear about your pups. I too had some over the years and posted them. As soon as they use up all the energy of their source, they die. I even had a slight faint green edge on the newer inner leaves but was too little and too late.

Solid Gold has a more yellow color and a more pronounced green edge. Gives it a little more food but is extremely fragile. I may not be able to grow this pup. Gold Hahnii itself is a hard one to grow.

I re-potted it yesterday. Left most of the same soil it came with. Has a good root system. I didn't disturb the root ball only added around it. I can't get this kind of root system on my mix so I am rethinking potting soils.

I am using bone meal, well composted compost from my grass clippings (many years old), still some poultry grit (smaller amount). I throw in a few alfalfa meal pills into each pot.

Using a new watering method. Camomile tea in my water can.

Woodnative, Have you consider Haworthia & aloe hybrids? Some are small and costly but I can get your started.

These guys are much smaller growing. Agave Schidigera shira ito oh no ohi. (aka: Agave filifera 'Compacta Marginata') (Queen of White Thread-leaf Agave)

(Agave potatorum cv. Shoji-Raijin variegata marginata hort.) is the other small one showed above.

I love the new one I just got. It's close to the other ones with the white called Agave Americana 'Medio-picta Alba'

Note; I use brown gutters on the railings on my porch to hold my collection in.

After I grew an Agave americana in a container to the point where it was too massive to move in and out and I was forced to plant it out in the yard, I lost the plant. It really did bite to lose that plant but I've always had a love for Agave. I started collecting small/slow growers like you... while I only have three different types, I have a list as long as my arm of the ones I want to eventually grow. After you run into the spikes a few dozen times, you start to realize you have a problem :)

Looking over my new purchase. I do believe it is S. tri. hahnii Lucille Polen. Based that on the darker green over all and all the leaves shows the same variegation pattern. Streaker mostly shows many different variegation patterns. Has to see if it pups true. Seller only knew it was a birdnest sans.
