Hello - and thanks! The walls are painted in a Dunn Edwards shade of DE 6212 Crisp Muslin. This is a favorite color of clients because it transcends other colors in the room and is very complimentary to many colors. It has a habit of taking on colors around it while refusing to be a typical white or beige. You will see. The finish is called velvet and is very durable and washable but feels soft to the touch and is similar to flat paint. The trim is also a Dunn Edwards shade DEW 383 and we did this in a satin. Beautiful home. I'm considering painting my walls Crisp Muslin as well. My trims/doors/ceiling are currently DE Swiss Coffee. Think it will compliment the Crisp Muslin or should I consider a new shade of white for trim/doors/ceiling?

Hello Mark - I'm very familiar with both colors. I just did an "Arizona Sun Test" outdoors of these two colors and it's my opinion that Crisp Muslin works with Swiss Coffee trim. The undertones are compatible in the bright light. Note that Swiss Coffee (LRV=83) has a slightly higher LRV (Light Reflective Value) than Crisp Muslin (LRV=71). This indicates that the trim will be slightly brighter than the wall color and that's what you want. I do suggest you try these paint chips in the space(s) you are painting to see if the light casts well on the two. As a side note, I would suggest that you try the Dunn Edwards "Velvet" finish for walls instead of flat. It is very durable, washable and feels plush on the walls. Camille, thank you so much for the insight! We’ll definitely consider velvet sheen. Also, I feel more comfortable about the Crisp Muslin/Swiss Coffee combo. I tested out the Crisp Muslin in a couple areas. I’d love your thoughts. At this point, I’ve only painted the doors and trim in Swiss Coffee but assume I should also paint the ceiling in Swiss for consistency.

Visited your link. That looks great Mark! Don't you just love the contrast? And I'd love to know your source for those wonderful navy chairs. Those are Eero Saarinen Chairs and I just ordered those for my own house! They are so very comfortable - the angled seat bottom makes them ergonomically correct. Where did you find them?

Thanks Camille! The dark gray (appears navy in the picture) dining chairs are Magnolia Homes, purchased from Home Goods. The blue bar stools at the kitchen island were also purchased from Home Goods but I’m not positive on the brand.
