I have two that bloom good!

It did take a few years as expected, and moving them to a bed they were much happier in. Surprisingly, a dry bed with not the best soil....

I’m not sure if I have any pictures of them, but I’ll look and post if I do.

I yanked mine; only paniculata that was not great so far. Only managed to get blooms on Year 1 (when I bought it blooming), 2-3 blooms on Year 2 and then only foliage. Waited 4-5 years and gave up. Planted Little Lime and Little Quickfire instead. I am now looking for the "little Vanilla Strawberry"(can't remember its name) to show up locally. Reg VS will probably not bloom well.

@ luis...the dwarf version of vanilla strawberry is called strawberry sundae.

"sundae"! That was it. My brain does not function without coffee in the mornings! Thanks. Yes, I have been looking for that one to see how it performs. The regular VS has done poorly due to our hot summers. Not really the plant's problems per se.

Mine took a couple of seasons to get going but has since done very well.....as long as the deer don't nip off the flower buds!!

I needed a small plant, so picked Bombshell. Grew it in a container for the first couple of years then planted it when I moved to a new property. It's not in a great site - poor soil, hard to water and not a huge amount of sun (nowhere in my current garden gets full sun) but it still manages to produce a good crop of flowers......as long as the deer stay away!
