Itea virginica 'Merlot'

Hey folks, picked one if these up for half price. Nice looking plant. I just planted a Henry's Garnett. How do they differ? Does the Merlot remain pretty tidy? Does it sucker much? I may plant this in a prominent spot along my front walkway near a recently planted miscanthus malepartus. Would they combine nicely?

It's more compact than HE. More orange red fall color than garnet red color. Yes it will sucker but not too much. Go for it.

Hahaha! It's been in the ground for 2 years now. It's ok. I think both my iteas are chlorotic Seems like my soil is more alkaline than I realized. Thanks.
