I'm jealous..I've never had pups..l hope I will someday..

Since it’s been so hot this year, you probably will get pups too. I added milorganic when I planted them and I recently added 1 tbsp of banana fuel to 1 gallon water for each bananas like 2 weeks ago.

we had record cold in late spring..3 bananas-3 different outcomes..one was ok..one was dead (still nothing-definitely dead)..and one produced a pup from the root after the original plant died..I'm considering this year unimpressive..just hoping they get strong enough to survive the winter..

I don't want pups.... and I re-potted a pup a couple months ago and it already has it's own pups. Grandpups from the mother plant all within 2.5-3 months

Nichols, yes, last winter was tough. Spring was hot this year. Hopefully our bananas love the hot weather.

from_lv..just so you know - my neighbor (one with awesome bananas) told me all of her original plants died..she has plenty and they look great but they're all new..I hate dealing with winter..

Nichols, that sucks to hear. Our winter is pretty rough with subzero one day and 50s degrees the next day. It probably won’t have that much problem if the weather stays consistency. Oh well.

it WAS disappointing..but 2 out of 3 are still alive and there's always next year..our winters are inconsistent too..it's amazing that any of them live..

Looks great! Just to note, the more pups you leave on the slower the mother plant will grow. Usually 2 or three is a good number. Happy growing!

Oh one question, is that mulch just burring the stem or did you plant them higher?

I’ll keep 2 of them :). I planted them higher since I have clay soil.
