Found a plumeria at a big box store, help with repotting question

Hi,

I was so excited to walk into Lowe’s garden center today and actually see several decent looking plumeria. What sold me on it was the size and the fact that it is blooming and about to bloom more. In all the time I have owned plumeria none of them have ever bloomed for me. (Most of mine are still too young so you can understand why I was so excited to see one blooming.) the soil it is in is not terrible. It’s actually really loose and not compact at all. I know that plumeria are picky about being repotted during growing season so my question is what should i do? Keep it in the pot and soil that it is in for now (obviously do not want to lose the blooms it has so wouldn’t do it until after it is finished blooming.) or should I just be careful watering it and wait until feb/march to repot? Would appreciate any help! Thank you!

    It looks nice and it’s not suffering from its soil/pot combo. Sometimes, roots are broken during transport, and the soil doesn’t look terrible, although likely peat-based.

    I’d leave it til next season and repot it in spring. Use a moisture meter to check soil or a bamboo Bbq skewer; if it’s dry an inch or so down, give her a drink. Until then, sit back and enjoy!
