Below is my master bedroom laid out on some app I found years ago when trying to figure out what size area rug to buy for my living room. (None of the colours etc in this layout are what I have planned, but it’s just what I could do with the limited options for furniture in the app)

I want to buy a queen sized bed with a tall headboard.

My question is, does the bed make sense in any other place in the room? And that is an 8x10 rug in a 10.5x17 foot room am I in the right size range for an area rug?

The previous owners had the bed on the opposite wall right as you came in the door and then dressers and vanity desk by the window. The big rectangle in the top left corner is the tiny closet. I feel like it makes sense to keep the closet and the dressers near each other. (The dressers are the two brown things with red squares on them, these are the right scale of pieces I own that I don’t intend to upgrade right now) I’m only budgeting for a queen bed, two bedside tables and an area rug.
If the window was on a different wall it would be so much easier, but where it is at the end of the room and it’s tall and narrow leaves me without many options.
