Hi your stove looks super suited to traditional looks! If it is a working, efficient stove why not keep it? Maybe have a look at thirties home decor in keeping with stoves look? But upscale the retro look so you don't get tired of it! Faded pink decor walls? Or a teal blue? Farrow and Ball paints are great for colour depth-don't know if they're in USA ?
....I am in Scotland, have used these paints and in love with their whole range!
You might want to consider thrift shop goodies for the vintage look, or distressed, pre-loved pieces that look as if they've always been there! Have fun and laughter with your project!

Thank you for your advice! But unfortunately, the stove is not in working condition and to be more specific on traditional, I didn't mean retro, I meant English country, wood stain, natural stone counter tops, moldings, etc. (Although I'm not big on wallpaper). I do love your quick answer though!

Structurally if you want to keep everything where it is you can do a few things. First the cabinets look to be in good shape so maybe you can repaint them and swap out the hardware for something more your taste.. Swap out the old countertops with natural stone (granite) or soapstone. The island maybe do a complete butcher block which adds a bit of pop to the room with 2 descending pendant lights over it. The sink would be an undermount single or double or a farmhouse sink if you wouldn't have to cut into the undercabinets. If you want to take up the tile floor and redo in wood or tile I would recommend renting a portable jackhammer from Home Depot or lowes. I've used one and it works really well on tile and isn't too heavy. Attached is what I did in our log cabin we recently purchased. It was horrible decor.

Since your style is traditional, why don't you start with white washed cabinets and a creamy wall, like dove or a light blue.
Or, if you want to go with a backsplash behind your cabinets, why not a light yellow subway tile with green cabinets? It takes a particular style, and feels very homey.
