Glass backsplash

I love the glass back splashes that are popular right now. A contestant on a show on HGTV used a combination of glass an travertine tile. I a worried that it would date the kitchen remodel that we are doing. Any thoughts on this dilemma? I don't want to remodel again in 10 years. Thanks
