We were dead set on using the Compac Unique Calacatta but then read about all the issues with quality that folks are having so we are back to the drawing board.

Our kitchen will be a high gloss white (Poggenpohl) -- very minimalist looking. We want a quartz that is as white as possible with some grey veins. Someone suggested Siltstone's Eternal Calacatta Gold as being close to the Compac Unique Calacatta -- we went to see it at Home Depot today... While the white is indeed very white, we weren't thrilled about the gold/brownish tones in the veins.

Does anyone know of another Calacatta quartz that has a true white background? Most samples I have (from Cesarstone, Cambria, Zodiac, LG, etc...) show more of an off-white/cream-ish background.

Calcutta is noted for cream and caramel tones. So is it’s fake. You're shopping for exactly the wrong thing.

This one is white quartz, you can have a reference. Kitchen open cabinet on the wall is a ingenious solution for maximizing straight line kitchen storage capacity.

Take your door sample to an actual store selling only quartz and stone. Not Home Depot. Your answer is not the Calacatta. It's probably a Carrara knock off. Whiter ground, gray veining. Any counter top should be selected in person, not online and not by a committee of opinion. Or TRY as below. Forget how they NAME it. Caesarstone Calacatta Nuvo. Brighter white ground. Best is call around and see if any fabricators have a slab on site.

Agree, not Home Depot. Check MSI for white Calacatta, they have several that are very white and not creamy, and with grey veining.

Whatever you do, buy now. MSI and any other materials made in China will be hit with tariffs that will increase the price by as much as 30%.
