Get lighting hue to your liking 1st before choosing colors. Light hues change colors.

Daylight bulbs will help in that bathroom.

I agree lighting first then choose color but the pear color would work .

I like white beadboard as well, I'm just used to seeing it half way up the wall and then a color can be a great option on top. I'm leaning toward the pear but haven't ruled out a soft white. I don't think I would like white on the floor to ceiling beadboard behind all the white fixtures.

Is it a bad idea to do the beadboard a pear and then the long empty wall soft white? Should everything be one color?

That's a good question.

Once lighting corrected, I would start by doing all the walls your color of choice. Stop & See if you like beadboard with the new paint color. If not, a color close to the wall color with a slight shade difference on beadboard. I would keep the lighter shade near the floor, because the floor is light. It will visually blend by keeping lighter tones of color in this bathroom.

Here are some examples of contrast due to darker next to white fixtures or trim in a small space. It makes the white objects look as though they are floating & the room smaller. I would avoid doing this, especially in a small bathroom.

The photo below is not as bad due to the light color above making the ceiling appear taller. However, it did make the space look tighter below.

Even a dark wall above with light below appears bigger below because the fixtures blend in.

I suggest the lighter colors I posted previously, to spread lighting about & to give the illusion the space is bigger

artistsharonva thank you. I see what you mean about the fixtures floating and space appearing smaller with the darker colors. The floor to ceiling beadboard is just throwing me off, I would be happy with white beadboard and a color above if the beadboard was only half way up.
