I saw this container outside a botanical garden and the "pineapple" like flowered plant was unique.

(It somewhat resembles a gomphrena but as one who has gomphrena I have never seen any variety that looks like this one).

Can you help?

It's a Gomphrena. There are 2 different species of Gomphena, both grown as annuals. G.globosa, and G. haageana. One is round shaped, the other more pineapple shaped.

Excellent 'Jay'. I know I have only planted globosa. I will keep my eye out for haageana seeds this off season. (It looks like it might be "Strawberry Fields").

UPDATE: It is easy to secure gomphrena globosa but I am having a bit of difficulty finding a Canadian seed outlet carrying haageana. By chance has anyone come across haageana seeds from a dot ca company?
