I love stacked in general and definitely in your specific.

Sorry for the double post. The original thread was not showing up in the individual forums for about an hour so I opened a second one, which showed up right away. (It may have been because I edited the original one 3 times - maybe the system got confused.)

Oh yes. Now I’m leaning toward offset. If I had wider tiles I would probably prefer stacked. But with only 30” per wall, the wider tiles would probably look awkward.

This thread is acting weird... I posted right after the OP submitted, and it is now not here.

I posted that in the high end homes I see, if the tile is larger than normal, and there is plenty of space, the stacked looks fine. If the tile is more of the normal size, then I see them laying it out the traditional way.

This holds true for both back splashes and floors.

Recently I have seen more pictures of the stacked brick but they have always been in an accent color rather than white or beige.

Stacked is good in contemporary, but then again, you have to be even more precise with stacked.
