It’s taken more than a few years, but this year, my Blue Angel has achieved some height, and is fulfilling that role for which I bought it. It is probably 8 years old.

Root competition from the pine doubtless slowed its growth. But all the hostas around the pine were planted to set off the lines of its trunks, so root competition is just what they all had to deal with.
