It IS cute! Great find! I have mine hanging from a tree limb, where the sun hits it for a few hours in the morning & a few in the evening. If you do an image search for A. nidus plants outside in warmer climates, you'll see a lot of giant ones right out in the sun all day. I love that this plant doesn't seem to be a diva about humidity, as long as the roots don't get too dry.

There's also a more traditional lacier fern market as Austral Gem Fern (Asplenium dimorphum x difforme) that I've had for over two years. Typically I can't keep indoor ferns, but this one defies me and recovers from bad wilts, etc. Just throwing in a blurb that it's a more 'ferny' fern and definitely a startler for people that can't grow ferns.

Interestingly, you could easily declare it a stiff plastic plant (versus living), but it does grow (lol).

I just have to remind myself to not let it dry out! I’m gonna repot it later today cause it’s completely overgrown the tiny pot it’s in. I’m glad to know I got one of the easier ferns. I really want a Boston fern but I’ve heard they’re difficult. I have a neighbor that has one outside in Texas heat and it gorgeous!!!! But back to my plant, I’ve got it in a Eastern upstairs bedroom window ( so I can look at it often of course!) and I think it will thrive there! I use a humidifier at night a lot for myself because my allergies have me so stuffy in this new climate. I guess I have to acclimate like plants do lol

I found ferns really love the shower window if you have one (lol). In fact, I found myself opening the shower curtain for the duration of the shower (it's not see-through glass) so that the fern (and others, like begonias) could get a mist shower. It really does help.

Course not so fun, when you're washing hair and have shampoo in your eyes, and you hear a plant go thud on the shower floor, because your arm hit the shower curtain and threw the plant out of the window.

Keep your eyes open for a Kimberly Queen fern. Looks very much like a Boston fern, but less messy looking and not very difficult.
