Fiddle Leaf Fig Help!

I bought a FF about 6 weeks ago. The plant was repotted in a larger planter w/ 1 drainage hole in the middle. Initially, I watered it with 3 large cups of water, and it started draining out of the bottom. I watered it every week. After about 3 weeks, it started taking 5 cups to finally drain, and then about 6 cups. Once I reached 6 cups of water, I immediately noticed the bottom leaves drooping, and then 1 quickly turned yellow and dropped. A 2nd and 3rd leaf dropped in the coming days. I figured I might have been overwatering. It has now been 2 weeks since the last watering, and my moisture meter (Recently bought) is showing the soil is still moist/wet in most areas of the pot. What do I do now? Can the plant be saved, or will it slowly die? I have never fertilized it. Please help.... I want to keep "Frank" alive and well. Thanks!
