leaves dropping, meiwa

What's up with my meiwa?

It has been dropping green leaves. Not curled or wilted. Just healthy looking green ones with the petiole attached. Seems to be oldest leaves. It's been a few leaves every day or so, and then just in the last day, over 10 leaves.

Plant is in 1:1 potting soil: PBF.

Repotted it a few months ago but minimal leaf loss at that time, and it has been doing well since then.

It is under an eave, so I am able to control watering (not too much rain). So it was never over/under watered to the point of the leaves showing it.

None of my other plants having the same issue.

I have checked several times for insects, both day and night inspections.

yeah, this is my awesome (not) clearance rack purchase that died way back, in late winter. Finally started pushing new growth on the remaining branches, all 2 of them. And they are both sideways :( Kinda thinking about cutting it all the way back...
