I can't answer your questions about its fragrance or growth habits because it wasn't hardy in my zone 5. It helps us respond to your questions about a rose if you can indicate where you are in the US (or other countries) since a rose's performance can change a lot even within a given zone. I was surprised to see climbing Pinocchio wasn't hardy since the regular Pinocchio was hardy for several years before it faded. If anyone sees the shrub form of Pinocchio available in the US I'd love to know about it.

It is very interesting rose with so many colours. There are many types of Pinocchio's like a red Pinocchio's , lavender Pinocchio, and another mixed one and all 3 varies from slight scent to very scent. I definitely like to hear more about this rose.

I have the regular Pinocchio and it's been growing in my yard for 64 years! I'm in zone 6 and it's been incredibly winter hardy for me so I'm surprised it didn't winter for you Nippstress. I rooted cuttings from it and those have wintered well too.

I know that isn't a concern for you, though, Jamie. I would describe the fragrance as mildly sweet and would warn you that it is some what black spot prone in my yard. May I ask who is offering it? As far as I knew it was out of commerce.
