The mirrors over the dresser would they work on each side of the bed?

I like the Colin Arm Chair and the Macy's chair. I like the structure of the tall back one too but seems a little pricey. The Macy's chair is no longer available. I can check out their othe chairs. The mirrors over the dresser might work. I will take a picture of one and see what you think. I saw these pillows while I was out today. What do you think?

Just jumping in to say I love the room the way it is! Maybe a bench at the end of the bed, but it really is a beautiful room the way it is. Leave it alone, you did a great job.

I'm not liking the sharp angle at the wing part of the chair. It will work if you like it. I'm just not fond of the design.

I meant the gold Ikat and the ZGallerie with the taupe and gold. Do I need to choose between 2 of those or should I some sort of combination of both? This is inspiring me for a bench at the end of the bed.

Are they the 'Rana' and the 'Gabriel' pillows that you mean?

I like the color you posted. Perhaps you could go with a lighter shade of that for the wall color. I also like the chair you posted.

Yes, I like the Shelburne Buff and the Putnam Ivory. The pillows were the Rana and the Gabriel. I checked the online store and only 1 Rana is available. What do you think, should I get it with a couple of Gabriels or just it or just Gabriels? It seems like it is coming together.

I would get 1 Rana and 2 Gabriels. Rana in the middle between 2 Gabriels and zebras

If you paint just the focal (bed wall) in one of those colors, I think the other walls need to work with that color too.
I would paint bed wall, Shelburne Buff and other walls Putnam Ivory.

You may want to - When you go to the paint store, ask to see the paint palette of each of those colors. Choose a darker color and a lighter color - both on the same palette.

That is what I will do! Thank you! I will get some samples of the different colors and will paint them on poster board to see what looks good. I like the idea of different accent color on the bed wall and using a complimentary color from the same family on than the other walls. Should I use the Rana color for a bench at the end of the bed or a different color?

You're welcome! Rana color for bench? Do you mean place a Rana pillow on that ? I think I would use the other neutral pillows on the bench. Bench can be upholstered in a slightly warmer color than the pillows. More like 'wheeling neutral' paint color or some warm ivory.

Oh, yes, I meant the color of the gold in the Rana pillow to be used as the bench color, but I like your idea of a warmer ivory bench. I am going to get all of the bed and paint together and then work on the chairs and table for the sitting area.

I like the 'Landon' chair that I posted. Good price too. Looks comfy. With print pillows on the bed, it would be nice to have a soft tone on tone print for the bay window. Creates texture and interest.

I like it too but Macy's website says it is not available. I will call them to see if they are getting it back in stock.

I agree with n247, except that I would add color. You could really go any direction with the color, a rich beige could warm it up while remaining classic or maybe a slate blue like Benjamin Moore's Stratford Blue for some depth.

I wouldn't do anything too bold though, as it may steal the show or clash with the classic look you have going.

Your bed is large so I would go with light coloured drapery floor to ceiling and wall to wall behind the bed. I love the mirror you currently have above the headboard - another spot perhaps? I just think you need more volume to off set the bed which is quite a focal point. The room is taking on a bit of a classic Bombay feel and although I like the idea of the mirrors behind the bedside table I wanted to throw my 2 cents in. Couldn't resist....

Hmm, yes I agree, add the grasscloth as well! I'll keep the the basket weave in mind for my own reference!

While I like the idea of the grasscloth wallpaper, it it most likely out of my budget to wallpaper the entire room with it. I will keep it in mind for a guest bath. I will definitely paint the entire room to give it more warmth. Here is my favorite wall color posted by LB:

If I did go with the drapery floor to ceiling behind the bed, what light color would you suggest that would still work with the bed yet not blend too much with the lamps?

I agree that grouping two Restoration Hardware Marseilles chairs may be too over powering for the window area. It is a large space as posted before. I want to make sure I get something that is quality and will stand the test of time without being too expensive. Some of the overstock chairs look like they might not last that long. I like the design of them a lot.

How often do you think you will use the reading space? I've found that sometimes I'd rather spend less on some furnishings, as I've had furniture last way too long. My style or colors change after years. I spent a lot of money on a sofa that rarely got used and I had always wished I hadn't. Neutral furinshings will never go out of style. They can always be replaced easily.

I decided on these chairs to bring in some color. Thoughts on how to tie everything together?

I think the chairs were are seeing are too tailored for this room. However, I haven't seen a lot of this colour on the chairs you picked and think it's lovely. Interesting. I would reference that colour in a variety of values on your bed. Maybe a collage of found objects from flea markets with some glas in that colour as well.

You will need to add some of this chair color in other elements in the room to have a cohesive flow.

Oh, yes, paint colour is good. Add some of those tones mixed in with your chair colour to some printed fabrics on your bed as well.

Your headboard and bed are extremely busy. You don't need anything over the bed. Try moving the starburst to the wall on the side of the bed, probably the one that doesn't have the curtains.

Add a few books stacked on one nightstand and a small live vine on the other table. Your room needs to have some personal touches that makes it look friendly and welcoming.

Agree on the personal touches. Do you think the color of the chairs can be brought in through pillows on bed and artwork. I can move the starburst to the side wall. There are currently no curtains or drapes or would you suggest drapes or curtains with the plantation shutters ain't the seating area when windows are located?
