Hoya Multiflora variations

last modified: 8 years ago

Hello,

One month ago I received two cutting of the same Hoya multiflora named: "Philippines" from a Thai vendor. Both cuttings successfully rooted and put out new growth in the past month.

One cutting tripled it's size, the other one had trouble rooting at first, but now it has double it's size.

I started noticing differences between the two, and I'm not sure they are the same variant.

They both are planted in the same mix, getting the same amount of light and water.

Number 1 has longer internodes and it put out a peduncle at each node, it tried to set out buds in two peduncles but they quickly yellowed and fell off. The leaves has a "droopy" appearance (even when the plant is hydrated) and are very big (20cm X 5.5cm).

Number 2 has short internodes, it put out a peduncle every second node, and is currently about to bloom from the first peduncle and a second set of buds are growing on a second one. The leaves are pointing up and are considerably smaller (11cm X 4cm).

The second variant looks like the common one to me, but I don't know what is the first one.

Any ideas?

Thanks
