Converted Porch

Recently we converted our old porch to a small enclosed space; about 48 sq ft. Any ideas of how to decorate as an office space? Or usable space?

You might consider recessed lighting or a short pendant type fixture...something with an adjustable chain or cord that will hang nicely from the sloped ceiling.

The above photo shows a narrow mudroom with slanted ceiling, pendant lighting and storage benches. Do you have a use for this type of situation?

What is through the door and at the other end of the room? Looks like stairs to another part of the house? If it's not a high traffic area, then a small desk on one wall and storage on the other is worth a try. You could put shelving or bulletin boards above the desk and a lamp in your workspace.

The Ikea Hemnes cabinet (15" deep) is a shallow storage option with doors and an interior shelf. The Stall shoe cabinet (only 7" deep) could be adapted for your needs.

Can you post dimensions or floor plan? Also, what is your scope? I don’t see outlets on any of the walls

I'll look get the pic of the floor plan later. From what I can tell this space isn't originally on it because the outside wasn't considered a living space. This area IS permitted. They are actually hanging in the window. Outlets can be put in. I'm just looking for direction as to what this room could be used for.
Here are a few pics to get an idea of what has been done. The small window is the now foyer area. The 2nd picture has been framed and insulated awaiting dry wall. I hope this helps.

So this is the front entry of the home? You make it sound like you aren’t sure what it can be used for, what was the plan for it when you started enclosing it?

I planned for it to just be a foyer but just simply wondered if anyone had any ideas about if it could be used differently. That's all.

If you enter the front of the house through a room of this size, then it really should be a foyer. You have enough room for seating and a console table. Can you draw a rough sketch of the room showing connecting rooms and the front door in relation to the driveway?

It would be strange for this space to be an office, yes? Unless you’ve created another entry into the home? Outlets have to be connected to electrical. I think the responders are confused that electrical was not run before the drywall was installed. As a foyer, I would have a storage unit built and add a pretty table with flowers?

I am standing in my current living room taking this picture. The doorway I'm in is the original front door. The second pic kinda shows the new front door and the old doorway

Okay, finally figured out the panorama feature on my camera. My current living room

Thanks for adding more photos. So, the new front door is on a different side of the house than it was previously. If the new front door is mostly for curb appeal and the door in the new room will be your primary entrance into the home, then I would use it as a foyer. If the new front door will be the primary entrance and you are in need of an extra room, then you could use the new room as a mini office. In that case, though, I would have rather had the wall space or another window instead of an outside door. You probably have another door to the backyard?

Correct. That other side has no outside access. We have a back door in the kitchen to the right of that new front door.

Was the door left in place because of concerns with siding?

I have a 8x4.5 front vestibule so a bit smaller sq footage. It has a closet on the right of the door and I put a small desk and Mail file on the left. It works well to corral mail and bills so a pseudo office I guess.
