No. Front loaders are a closed, sealed environment when the door is closed--how else are you going to no have no water leaks? LG front load washers have a feature that allows the door to stay open just every little bit so and that works. It has like a magnet that keeps the door slightly open, but not obtrusive. Sure, you can go ahead and keep the door closed, but you'll have mold and a putrid smell inside that won't ever be completely rid of without taking the whole machine apart.
