Having trouble commenting with a link, but search for Horticultural Lighting Group HLG 100 (available on Amazon). I bought two for this coming winter for my citrus. They seem much better than the purple ones that have exaggerated specs.

Thank you Lucky:) They look great. Unfortunately I need ones that won't be supplemental but have to meet 100% of my light needs year round. Live in one of those impossible to grow outside even in summer kind of locales. I'm almost thinking of just forgetting it and sticking with the T5HO's because they really have been good performers. Have a couple ballasts going and it's going to be as much to replace a T5HO as have new ballasts put in. But the lights you point out look really interesting. I hadn't seen any like that before. Another user recommended them earlier. People use them as 100% light source, they just use them in a small space with a tent. I like that they give you the actual PAR measurements rather than just meaningless watt-equivalents. They are SO light and small, and SO bright, it's amazing.

They really sound great. I have a 16'x16' basement room with 60 citrus and plumeria. The T5HOs really do work great, but in summer the room can get up to about 93* with eight 4'x8' lights. Do you think there's a chance they could work for me? This is definitely not small like a grow room. If you think it has possibilities I might try one and see. I'd just need one to cover at least a 4x8' area like one of my T5s do. Besides they sure look a lot prettier than the T5s. I love to sit down there and enjoy my plants and be a lot nicer without all that heat.

You have 4' x 8' T5HO lights? Are these custom built? The largest T5HO fixtures I usually see are fixtures with 8 of the 4' bulbs, which result in a 4' x 2' fixture. Do you mean you have fixtures that each have 8 of the 4' bulbs (4x8) and you are using each fixture to cover a 4' by 8' area (a different 4x8, just for confusion) ??

Is the heat the only reason you want to switch to LED? Why do you want to switch to LED?

If heat is the issue, you may be better off investing in a small AC unit instead of replacing your lighting. You are currently using around 3,600 watts of artificial light in a 16' x 16' room, and that is just going to create some heat.

You mentioned wanting to enjoy being with your plants - do you realize that the LED lights you linked to produce a strongly purple, not white, light? This can be unpleasant to be around, and certainly won't make it easy to enjoy any flowers, which will look much different under the lights.
