I am not a pink fan and do not care for this kitchen. But glad it works for the owner!

Well the home is beautiful but everyone has a different taste.

I saw this in the newspaper too. Maybe if it was fuschia or something.....

i find it rather unappetizing. The blue table doesn't help.

I read this article...the whole house is unusual, lotsa pink, and will take either a like minded buyer or one with deep reno pockets, especially if you think laminate surfaces are "dated".

I like it but not the blue table set in there. Pink is very calming.

my mother in laws kitchen was painted pink but the cabinets were white. it was charming, and very 'her'.

The pink perimeter cabinets are a nice twist. But I'd do the island a contrasting medium to dark grey. I'd do the floors a soft grey or white without obvious grout lines. And I'd switch out the counters and backsplash for a white/grey Carrara look-alike.

Hmmm...to each, his own. Just not my own.

I do like it that it made the homeowner happy. So many times we hear that refrain here but never see it realized to such a degree. I do think with a few changes as Pal suggests, it could work for the next homebuyer as well.

Well, I like the pink cabinets, but the rest of the pink can go. It has inspired me to paint my mud room a pinkish color. Why not? If a kitchen gets press for it, a little mud room can handle pink walls!

I think it's very cute but would look much better with white floors as Pal said.

I like it, but if not white floors, at least lighter grout.

I think if the floor were a light wood, I'd like it, but I don't.

LOL. Those cabinets are about the color of the cabinets in the kitchen of the very first house we bought. Appliances were copper, floor and counters kind of a pebbled neutral with flecks of pink (laminate). I lived with those appliances for a few years, but immediately painted the cabinets pale celery. With the help of the owner of our local paint store, I taught myself to paint in that kitchen.

Errrr, no. I personally find the floor tiles to be the killer. Something more neutral might have saved it.

My philosophy is that almost anything can work, even pink kitchen cabinets, if it's done well. That kitchen has some bad color combos, ugly floor and other misses, though the cabinets are ok.

Well if the owner likes it and is happy, that's great, that's what it's all about, too bad if others don't they don't live there.

I'm not a pink person, but I actually would like hanging out in this kitchen, with white-toned floors and lighter grout. I'm guessing the personality living there would be unique and fun.

The color pink is not the first color that comes to my mind when thinking about a kitchen's color, It can be too girly and even over the top vintage, or shockingly "bright". A little pink is fine and it can bathe a kitchen in a warm, soft, relaxing light that reflects coziness and warm.

It's fabulous and can be updated with large print black and white wallpaper, on the white walls, or large print floral impressionist wallpaper with charcoal background.

When you erase the floor you can see that the cabinetry is not a very sugary pink.

The entire house is funky and fun. Owner obviously likes different and she is happy in her home…

OMG!!! That's a great kitchen for someone trying to lose weight. I just had breakfast and feel queasy just looking at is. Guess someone didn't care much about resale. Hideous is too kind.

I actually like the pink cabinets and appliances. What makes the space somewhat jarring is both the blue table and the dark grout on the floor. Same is true for that stark white wall.

I'd change the wall color to a soft white, perhaps one with an undertone of the faintest of pink. Swap out that table for something else. And change the floor grout to a color without so much contrast to the color of the tile.

Folks on this site are always encouraging others to add a pop of color. While I don't like that term, here's an architect who went bold with color. Some will like it. Probably more will not.

The house is on the market, any takers? Appears, the owners are the originals and loved to entertain.

I kind of like it, though I'm in agreement with many about the dark/wide grout lines on the floor and the counter color.

The house on the whole seems like a nice example of 80s Art Deco Revival.

This is an existing one in my area (again another $1M+ house), and with this one I think the problem is the maroon accents.

I read an editorial about a guy who had a windowless pink bathroom in his house, and he said that one night in an alcohol-fueled frenzy he sledge hammered most of it and put it outside for the trash.

Only to find out that it was the Pepto Bismol pink walls that made it all look so pink. The fixtures and tile, which had all been in pristine condition were beige and just picked up the yuckier pink cast from the paint color which would have easily been changed.

Ugly, the house as well.

Pal, I actually like that kitchen. I agree the burgundy is throwing it off.

It actually breaks my heart when I see some pink, blue and yellow bathrooms from the 1950s renovated. Most are in awful condition but every once in a while, they are like new and the homeowner cherished them. The yellows are my favorite. If this kitchen were yellow rather than pink, I would be very smitten.

In the original house I posted, I truly hope the person who buys it loves it as much as the original homeowner (albeit with a few changes rather than a full gut). It would sadden me that it would all be removed.
