Desperate for seating help!

I have this "sitting room" right off the front door. i have it decorated the way i want, but i just cant put my finger on the right seating. the area rug in the room is 8x10...so i think the room is around 9x12ish. i have some ideas below. i want something along the "air force wall" that has arms and is comfy. thoughts? suggestions? thank you!

Yes, consider function before you buy anything:

--Love the quiet reading room idea with an upholstered chaise, floor lamp, newspaper/magazine rack, bookshelves. Add a small desk for bill sorting/paying. and attractive sorting bin to move junk mail to recylcing.

I love your decorating so far. What a great attitude to have. Thank you for your service!

I think a more conversational seating arrangement might be used more like a ~5 foot loveseat/sofa + an armchair to the right of the window. Maybe with an ottoman.

@ Myra. I totally see what you're saying about the clash of the too formal seating with the cozy vibe of the room. yes, i had planned on another armchair. along with a reading lamp and small side table. perhaps two small accent chairs? im pulling towards the chaise lounge. thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my post. :)

@housegal200...im thinking reading nook idea, too. this pulls me towards the chaise lounge with a small end table and lamp. im also thinking another arm chair or accent chairs to develop a room for conversation/socializing, too. thank you so much for your response! :)

@ benjesbride Yes...chairs for conversation...maybe along with the chaise. so the room is cozy for lounging and socializing.

thank you for your sweet response. we love the air force. i couldnt picture our life any other way. :)

Go on amazon and find great history books about the air force and put them on the bookshelves in the nook--also old magazines about the air force on Ebay. Have fun with the room!

Air Force? You move a lot?

    Like your memory wall.

The usual item for your USAF wall would be a sofa with a pair of end tables and tall thin lamps with medium sized white shades. If you can find a comfortable sofa in a style that suits you in AF dress blue color, consider that.

Something else to consider: Every family ends up collecting documents and receipts they need to keep secure, including while they're being moved from one post to another. For this reason, you might at least consider a pair of upscale wood two drawer file cabinets that lock -- or with a third small top drawer. They could also be used as his/her bedside tables.

Why not try two chairs with an ottoman?
