Lovely wood. Take a drawer front with you to the countertop shop and pick up a lot of samples. White or cream would probably be good choices. Most of the pattern the kitchen needs is in the wood already.

You can choose some new knobs, too, if you are going to put more knobs on the cabinets. Pick up a few samples. White porcelain or near black could be good choices, depending on your style.

I like your idea of white stone for the bench top.

There is a lot of wood in this kitchen, cabinets, floor and existing laminate countertop. Right now you have a lot of warm tones and it feels a little bland. I definitely agree that a white marble or quartz that looks like marble would work well, introducing a bit of gray from the cooler colour palette. I feel a glass subway tile backsplash would make the space feel a little more contemporary. You don't want a busy backsplash because there is a lot going on in the cabinetry. Keep it simple.

What did you end up going with? I'd love to see pictures, I'm in the same predicament right now. I need something to break up all this wood!! Lol
