Hey guys I need advice with chosing a color for both vanity and wall paint. I'm thinking a dark gray for the vanity. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks! -JD

    Beautiful tile work....

How about Witching Hour Benjamin Moore for the vanity. ( i dont have a good sample...) I have been hyper focused on this color for my space. Maybe you would like it too. I would get a sample and see if it would go with the marble tile first.

What about a soft teal or maybe a clear blue rather than another gray color.

Antique Jade BM for the walls

    Palladian Blue

    or Key Largo Green

Dark charcoal vanity would be nice.

A light grey color chosen out from the tiles for walls. I would definitely do a light tone color for walls to keep the space appearing open & bigger.

I'm still liking my 1st suggestion

I chose the grey color by selecting a light color in the tiles.

I would take a wall tile to the paint store & get 3 samples of light colors in the tile, then paint them on walls. let dry , colors change when dry. look at in daytime light & night lighting then choose your favorite.

Paint stores will sell you mini sample jars of paint selection. How about get 2-3 paint them, then post pictures, so we can give a neutral opinion. If it were me, I get 2 different very light shades, of grey & 2 shades of blue you like.

Your bathroom is coming along well. It's going to be gorgeous!

Beautiful bathroom you’ve got going on there, JD! I assume it’s a renovation and you’re using the existing vanity, which I’m also assuming is the old standard height of about 30” (also known as “too low for a human adult”). Is that so? If so, while you’re in work mode, and more importantly, if you even WANT to do it, you might consider either raising that vanity several inches or buying a new one. Just thought I’d offer up that suggestion in case it hadn’t even occurred to you (hey, you never know!)

Anyway, good luck with the rest of the room; it looks fantastic!

BTW: Can you tell me about the tiles you used? And what’s your countertop material? (Sorry if it’s already been discussed and I didn’t see it!)

There are some crazy color names out there!

That is a good looking charcoal grey, but the name is spooky...lol

Right, artistsharonva? And I, for one, am completely influenced by them when picking colors, whether it be for wall paint or nail polish!

This dark gray on the vanity is Black Fox by Sherwin Williams and the walls are Passive also by Sherwin Williams! We love using those two colors together.

@Sammy, Thank you so much. I just love that color and I like the name too. ~boxer

SW Rhinestone is a pale pale grey that would let the tile take centerstage and go well with the darker vanity. I've just used it and like it a lot....

JD D. Simply White for the walls. please, no more gray! do white walls and then bring in some dark wood shelves with some sort of plants or orchids.

these teak shelves and plants are on my shower wall. you don't have to crazy like i do w/the plants, but you need some wood with some sort of greenery (try a Pothos ivy plant or something) to keep the space from looking too 'cold' with all that gray and marble) .

or do a hanging plant, and still do a wood shelf w/some art above it. But this color white on the walls w/light gold hardware would be perfect!

you get the idea. white walls. some orchids (they have good faux looking ones on wayfair) . if you're handy, make your own shelf out of a solid piece of wood cut to size. Maybe bring in mirrored tray to put on the spot behind the tub faucet. glass jars w/soap, wash cloths, potted flower, etc.

see how they did the shelf on this one ? : you could set it right above the tile and do something simple w/it.

    soft gold hardware

    example of using gold

How about Sherwin Williams Outerspace for the cabinet and Rock candy for the wall?

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I'm wondering from Beth H. which (real) plants she suggests in a bathroom setting with lots of natural light.

JD,,, so good! damn. love that color. I'd use these for the handles.

carladr....Anything! I've used succulents, flowering jasmine, pothos, orchids, ferns, air plants, philodendron, cactus (in the summer that top shelf gets solid sunlight for hours) and african violets. basically any plant will do well with lots of natural light. and almost all welcome the humidity.

right now I've got a large glass vase (upper right in pic) filled w/Pothos cuttings and water. no soil. as you can see, it trails all over the place. This shelf gets so much sun during this time of year, (there is a skylight overhead) that it will burn any shade tolerant plant. so i wait until winter and bring in some orchids and others, when it's not so direct.
