How fragile? and surface mount?

I would like to mount one of these centered on a tub surround. It would be over the existing tile. My questions are (1) how fragile is this piece? and how translucent is it?

    This tile is marble and pearl, but is not too fragile to be used on a tub surround. As far as being installed over existing tile, you do want to make sure the tile is being installed over a smooth and clean, structurally sound substrate. This tile will not be translucent and after the thinset and grouting processes, you should have no worries.
