Probably not, if you are going to be following trends, since the gray trend is already on its way out. I prefer not to be following trends. I like gray, in certain rooms, and have used it for years and years. I also use a lot of turquoise, which right now, is back on trend, after several years. I have never changed my love for turquoise, and I use it everywhere. Turquoise makes me happy. Gray is a great accent along with my turquoise. Beige goes in and out of trend. I despise beige and the new greige. They look muddy and dirty and to me look like you should repaint your house all over, but, if you love it, then you should use it. Never follow trends, unless it is for something temporary. If you are going to paint your house following trends, then you will be painting it every year. It is bettert to pick what you love and what goes with your furnishings.

Gray as a trend is over. Gray if it makes sense in your room and you love it and you will pair it with actual colors so it does not look all washed out and like a black and white photo.

Maria Killam's blog discusses color trends in depth. I would peruse her posts for good color advice.

    you need to..

-love your colors. We react to colors from a very personal spot-say I'll always go for "muddier" colors for walls, and for warmer shades of these even if a color itself is considered "cool" one. Others like cleaner shades, or cooler pallette. No wrong and right in that, within every color you'll find hundred shades, some of which you'll love, some of which you'd like in small amounts only. Figure out your personal deep reactions to things

-know your house. Different houses might ask for different colors. They're situated in certain region, surrounded by different landscapes, have their unique light-all that, will play its role. They might have architectural style that pushes one toward certain colors and shades. It might be also that your other elements (flooring? existing stones and tiles? existing cabinetry?) will steer you toward certain colors and shades. You don't choose colors in a vacuum-you already work in the unique context of your house.

Trends can be fun to watch and to borrow this and that if it speaks to you, yet your choices shouldn't be dictated by them.

Now strictly in terms of what the trend will be, will it still be gray-no it won't, and already isn't.

You can indeed look up the blog Rita mentioned, which I read from time to time too, or just google it-sites like Domino never shut up about trends. (and do it with lots of exclamation points))

They're usually a bit late as well, with their predictions.

If you're interested to know what people now consider fresh and exciting "it" neutral-white:) (and its variations)

Greige still going strong..it being a bit gray. a bit beige. a bit borrowing from white when pale, in short being easier choice when trends shift, to bridge between "older" and "newer"

Bold jewel tones (like deep teal etc) for whoever loves darker colors and can afford it in their space

    Warmer colors more in favor

    Shades of green

    etcetera

In terms of cabinetry-wood stain comes back in and is on the rise especially lighter woods

So obviously new Interior color trends will take this into account
