My contractor built it from looking at the picture and getting the dimension of bunk beds , at the bottom we added storage drawers...I stained the stairs instead of painting them...we did the lights over the beds....small recess lights( not much heat.. and the small kids don't hit or mess with those)I like the color of the beds, so we stuck with it, some feel it not a child's color...I disagree.....it's inviting, to the young ones.....my friends' kids always jumping and playing in the beds when they come ....the beds leave room for the kids to play, put other furniture , and not congested, in a standard room....show the contractor the picture, if he's knowledgable, he can do it....everything he needed, he got from the picture....have fun with it....

Thanks, for the comments. The beds are lots of fun for the kids, the storage at the bottom is great....the room is standard size, but allows a lot of area for playing.....
