Oh...and this pattern was from Missouri Star called the Quartered Stripes Quilt. I didn't like it when I first started making it, but once I got the borders on, it really grew on me.

I made that one, too. It didn't grow on me. I even tried sashing it. When I measured it and figured it would cost $160.00 to get it finished, it landed in the UFO pile.

I like yours more than mine, though. Your's looks appropriate for a man.

I remember you posting about this before. I like how yours came out. I made one, too and it's not one of my faves but I did finish it. I keep it in the spare bedroom. It's a smaller quilt, best used as a quick nap cover-up.

It's fantastic! Love all the different ways it moves and catches the eye. What a lovely gift for your friend.

Isn't that match of stripes in a square like that a variation on the god's eye? I did blocks like that once, and they turned out pretty good, but it was a bit stressful lining up the stripes, lol. You did a fantastic job!

I love it and the idea/thought behind it. I'm 11 years out from treatment and keep my office so hot staff doesn't want to come in for meetings. I live in Texas and am always cold.

Thank you, everyone. If you watch the video from Missouri Star, you'll see the cool way to cut the fabric so the stripes just match up naturally. That wasn't really a problem. I first started making it for a short friend. When I decided to make it for Gary, I decided it needed another row, since he is much taller. Either I was sloppy or the scraps just weren't able to line up the same way, as the last row stripes do not line up quite as well. I was really down to the last of the fabric and one block was just too small to force in. I took out the seams, cut each side back a bit and took scraps and added a piece to each side. Then mitered the corners again and it worked.

Not sure I'll ever make another once of these, but I'm sure glad it's finished!
