late planting after garlic harvest

After I dug my garlics last July, I replanted the garlic bed about the middle of July with Minnesota Midget muskmelons and ButterBush squash just to see if there was enough time left for them. The melons have been blooming for weeks now, but I see no fruit set yet, despite hundreds of flowers. The squash have several fruits set. Both have a very nice run of vines. The question now is whether they will mature. The immature butternuts can be used as summer squash, if they don't.
