Agree with @chiflipper. Porcelain tile is SO MUCH NICER than vinyl flooring for a similar price.

i installed Coretec Plus in a 2700 sq. foot home 2 years ago. I could not be happier, no scratches, and no issues.

I agree with the fact of tile being more durable but that is what we have now and have had, for 17 years. It's hard on the feet and we are in need of updating the floors. Replacing the tile is a huge mess, and heavy on the pocket book. LVP will be soft on the feet, less mess, and less on our pocket book.

DO NOT install vinyl over tile...the tile grout lines will "telegraph" through the vinyl. Your current tile floor will have to be removed and leveled before installing any new flooring (real wood, tile, LVP, carpet). Please don't believe anyone who claims differently.

If you think vinyl will be cheaper than tile, you haven’t priced the demo and the floor prep needed for it. That will cost as much or more as laying it if you have someone worth hiring.

How about leaning to love what you have? Tile is a lifetime floor. Not a 20 year floor. “Updating” is a foolish concept when it comes to infrastructure.

Well, it's not in the best condition and it isn't like we can repair only the ones chipped? The grout is also needing to be redone. So...loving what we have? Not possible. Loving a new floor? Definitely possible. Most affordable, it is said, would be to place vinyl on top; which according to several contractors, it is doable.

If you're looking for comfort, consider cork. I installed the floating stuff in my bedrooms to replace carpet. The DW was concerned about needing throw rugs, and has not said a word since day 1. Don't go cheap, though. I put down stuff that was twice as thick as the el cheapo crap and used mid grade foam underlayment.

We are almost finished building a new house and installed Coretec Pro Plus Belmont Hickory and it looks wonderful. I think a dark color will show scratches more than a varied color. These images are from the Coretec website.

If you are talking to me, ours is new construction, so the Coretec Pro Plus went over the OSB subfloor.

Sorry for my ignorance but...I never heard of cork flooring. Can it be installed on top of tile floors throughout the home and is it waterproof?

It's finished so it's water resistant. I would not say waterproof. I don't have it in baths or the kitchen, but I think other posters do. As to laying it on tile, I didn't, so have no experience with that. A couple articles on the web said it's possible, but there are conditions. Feel free to do some web research. Plenty of info available.

Suki Kabuki I am looking at the Belmont Hickory for our cabin. The sample looks a bit dull ..I do love the way it looks in your pics and I am wondering if there are reasonable amount of the lighter planks which I really like Thanks

The photo of the room is representative of what you get.

If you have just one plank it is hard to tell what it looks like because of the variation from plank to plank.

How is it with footprints, scratches etc. Can you repost a photo that is upright or send one to me. twbuss@att.net

@Suki Mom. Hi I just came across this post and it's currently August 7th 2020. I wanted to ask you as you've had your floor in for some time if you're still satisfied with it if you love it if you like it less and if you would choose the same flooring all over again. I have a sample of it and I'm considering installation in my home throughout. I'm referring to the coretec Pro Plus Belmont Hickory which is the same that you used. My one concern about it before I move forward is the 5 mm thickness and if that's heavy enough. Most installers I talked to prefer 6.5 mm or more. I hope you can answer this because I need to make my decision in the next couple days. Tyia

5mm is fine because this is an SPC product, not WPC. It is very strong and durable. We are very happy with it.

And we would choose it again.

My one concern about the Belmont Hickory is that it might be too busy but I like the fact that it has lots of light streaking through it because I don't want a real dark floor.

A friend of mine has Coretec and several dogs, no scratches that I can see. She loves it.

I put it in our entire cottage in February. Seems to be holding up. Pleased that it doesn’t scratch easily.

i think it looks at times pretty busy in our larger spaces but my husband doesn’t think so.. We went from a floor with not a lot of color

differentiation to this so I think it takes time to get use to

@suke @meryl This thread has alot of good information. After much research, we are just about to pull the trigger on the Coretec Pro Plus - did you have it installed floating or glued? Did your installers use a level agent for the subfloor? Any advice?

Floating except glued on stairs. I don't know if they used a level agent.

I'm looking into Roswell Hickory too. I saw it in person and loved the red overtones. My biggest concern is that that one plank seems to have a very distinctive knot. If you install it, I'd love to see pictures.

Ditto, i am considering install of Coretec Roswell Hickory in basement and love to see fully installed pics. I am a bit concerned about the plank knots as well.

Came across this post while trying to make a decision on which color Coretec Pro floor to have installed in my entire home. We have a lot of wood accents in our home that would like to keep. The Belmont Hickory looked nice in the sample brought out. I’m just really scared about the variation. It is an expensive job, >$30k. I am replacing engineered hardwood and carpet. I want something that will be timeless and durable. I lean a little more to traditional design. Can anyone provide any feedback? I will attach pictures of my current floor.

My son has belmont hickory in his house.. it looks nice but i think is more rustic lookingnthan you want.

We have Coretec blended sienna and are very happy with it. is more realistic looking than belmont hickory and warmer color and has realistic looking bevel. Belmont hickory has no bevel.
