Very Goofy Looking Flowers

I have two adenium seedlings producing the strangest flowers.. One plant with caudex rot had to be butchered and once placed in fresh moist soil ( with no roots whatsoever) decided to open its buds. This plant and the other plant (which is perfectly healthy), having been growing very differently shaped buds right from the beginning.. Do you think this is just a genetic aberration or due to something I did with the plants' culture?. I have seen my large adult plants produce split flowers when I did something different (like fertilizing or applying bug spray) but none of the flowers were as mis-shapen as on these seedlings.. Thank you for all comments in advance.
