Your only chance of getting a reliable ID would be to contact the seller or the nursery from whom the store gets their plants. The plant belongs to the Oncidium alliance and will likely take standard oncidium care.

If you cannot get the name from the actual nursery, then it will forever be a NoID. Even should you see another plant which looks the same but is named, you should not assume that will be the name for yours. There are simply too many look alike hybrids out there.

Is it fragrant? Compact grower?

It is a mystery why the name registered Is Oncidium Volcano Hula Halau and the name a seller uses omits Volcano. Sorry no idea how to grow anything in zone 7.

I have a very similar species, I think we decided it was Onc. Volcano Sunset Volcano Queen. I’m also in zone 7, and this one has bloomed almost non stop for over a year in dappled sunlight. In winter I supplement with grow lights, but as long as it gets either morning sun for a few hours then indirect sun or dappled sun all day/all afternoon it should do well for you. This one has 5 or 6 spikes right now

Gorgeous! I've noticed abbreviated names on random tags when I get a noID. My onc. Volcano Hula Halau looks just like the original post. Smells incredible!
