Is that what that is! This pot frustrated me so much, I just popped the bottom off a few days ago so I can drain the water myself lol! I only got the pot because it was a size up from its previous pot. Good to know that that's what it's for. I'll try to avoid them in the future.

Also, that makes sense. I was just worried that I'd been doing something wrong, because I've seen so many pothos that are HUUUGE (like, growing up along people's ceilings!) but if that's not the case, then I'm fine with the pace it's growing at. :)

When the vines become long enough to take cuttings, you can add more individuals to the pot for a more full appearance. If your goal is to get around-the-room vines as soon as possible, you would not be interested in that, unless you're willing to delay things a bit to have more individual vines making the journey.

Totally agree with snapping off the drain saucer. You could still use it, just not snapped onto the pot. That way, it will still protect furniture, and catch any last drips after the pot is watered.

If the soil does not have any time release fertilizer, or the time has passed and the fertilizer has lost its' effectiveness, fertilizing weakly when you water would be a proactive thing you could do to speed the growth. Pothos can grow a foot per month, that I've seen, and probably faster in the ground in a frost-free climate.

I've never used fertilizer before on any of my plants. What kind would be best for pothos?

I don't know what the brands are in US but we have found that Epipremnum respond very positively to a general garden fertiliser. Miracle Gro powder is what we use. They romp away!

Miracle Gro is EVERYWHERE in the US (sadly! Their soil really sucks!) so that shouldn't be too hard to find. I'll definitely take a look! My pothos is currently growing about 3 new leaves per month, so I'm excited to see if this works!

Please don't use Miracle Gro, choose something bio. I have good results with BioBizz Bio Grow Fish Mix.

To your growth problem - at some point, then plant is fully established and have enough potency it starts grow very fast. Marble queen grows very fast, much faster than Neon or Satin pothos varieties.

I suppose I'll do a bit more research into better but still affordable options then :)

The satin one is not an Epipremnum, it's a Scindapsus. Agree that it grows more slowly.

Adding fertilizer won't be as effective if the other factors aren't there, plenty of light, heat, & moisture.

It’s a nice plant the way it is, just enjoy it. It will grow in time. Be careful not to overwater.
