Mine is in partial shade and bears well. I think it has more to do with the temperature than the sunlight. Mine usually die in the summer, but I put this one where it only gets late afternoon sun and is partially shaded the rest of the day, and it's doing great. I love that tiny tomato. It's the only tomato that does well in my yard.

All mine that received sun most of the day died by late July. Next spring they will be covered by 50% shade cloth. Will let you know if it helps.

How cool. All of my everglades from last fall died early to mid summer. I would have been so happy to have some during the summer months but I think my nights here are way too warm for any tomatoes during summer. I'm lucky if I get even a 10° difference between daytime high and nighttime low here.

Bea, I'm in zone 10. I'm in St. Pete, very near to Gulfport.

When I check weather forecasts for cities in Florida even places as far south as Fort Myers experience a bigger difference between their daily high and daily low temperature than I do.

I think I read somewhere that tomatoes benefit from a bigger overnight drop in temperature especially if it's hot during the day.

I grow mine in mostly shade it gets about 2 1/2 hours of full sun at the highest point of arc. I am hoping that more will come back on there own next year
