What eats Irises?

I have (had) a large patch of irises, all of are/were over 3 years old either new to replanted. I went out there the other day and the entire center of the bed is empty: no rhizomes, no leaves, no spent flower stems. The ground is not even disturbed but after all the rain, maybe this is not to be expected. I am ready to suspect my neighbor of stealing them.

No deer but I have seen skunk, rabbit, chipmunk, and wood chuck. I even saw a fox once. The strange thing is that large sections, left and right, remain untouched, especially the cheap ones....

Siberian Iris is all there.
