As far as ugly carpet goes, those 2 colors aren't That bad.

These color schemes could work.

I would choose bedding with a bit of navy (one room) or pink (other room) first. Then paint the walls in a neutral from the bedding.

Paint the walls white and choose bedding that incorporates the pink. The navy is fairly neutral so a lot will go with it: yellow, green, etc

With so much color on the floor, don't put a lot of color on the wall. Stick with a neutral or even white. Add pattern with bedding.

get a large area rug to cover most of the carpet if you don't like it.

another option is to pull up the carpets and put down decent paint grade plywood and paint it! it's a cheaper option. you can throw a cheaper rug over that, or do a cool painted stencil.

if the carpets are that hideous, does that mean they're old and used? I wouldn't want my kids being around that carpet anyway. are you on a cement slab or raised foundation?
