Anybody use Rock Phosphate?

Anybody use rock phosphate on their lawns? I have quite a bit and was going to spread it on my flower beds but I might just use it on the lawn. There's obviously P that will be available but I would like to increase the mineral and micro nutrient content as well.

Without a very good soil test that shows a phosphorous deficiency, I would not use it. You can get a very good soil test from Logan Labs in Ohio for $25. Post the results here and you will get more information about your soil's needs.

It certainly won't hurt any, assuming that you need the phosphorus. It also won't be available quickly in anything but an acidic soil.

Even there, it's very slow. So if you have a severe need for phosphorus, I'd use a much faster source. For minerals and micros, a soil test will tell you what you need and you can manipulate it directly if required.
