Speaking of counter height...

Cabinets in my kitchen were all built at 35.25". A .75" decking lays on top of that, making the old cabinets approx. 36." high...almost 37" (36.787) after 2 cm quartzite is added. I am considering dropping the new decking on the large counter island into the cabinets (with supports - see pictures), which would lower overall height on that larger island to 36" (36.037), or .75" shorter than all the other perimeter cabinets and the small island (old decking will stay) . Will it look good if the large counter island is .75" shorter than all the other background cabinets? And, will this cause a problem with 14" overhang? Any and all opinions are welcome. Hope my calculations are right. I really don't know much about this stuff and making these decisions is difficult. Need people in the know to be brutally honest! Thanks to all!
