Have you repotted it? If so, what were the roots like? The leaves look like it's too dry. But there's a variety of problems that can make them look like that, not just too little watering.

I did repot it but that was awhile ago. The roots seemed fine i guess!

Im still a beginner at this lol. I havent been watering it very often because i belive i over watered my parlour palm and i slowed it down on the bamboo palm aswell.

How often should i water it out of curiosity?

The important thing is to make sure the soil in the pot is fast draining and the pot has good drainage holes. When the soil starts to get a bit on the dry side give it plenty of water. Times will vary according to how hot/dry the weather/environment is and how fast the soil dries. If the soil is very fast draining then you are not likely to have problems with over watering. That's better than having heavy, slow draining soil and needing to be very careful to not over water. If water doesn't drain well from the soil you can get a build up of minerals/fertiliser and get fertiliser burn on your plants. If you give the plant a good flush every now and then you avoid that mineral build up in the soil.

I tried making a fast draining soil for the parlour palm, but it didnt seem to help it and it kept dying. the roots were really damp so i think i was to late. Ill give the bamboo palm a good drink tomorrow and see how it takes from there. We are having some warmer days now so ill probably water a bit more regulary the i have been.

Hello again.

So its been about a month. I gave the bamboo palm a good flush out and let it dried and gave it some more water regulary and it looks like its still struggling. Any ideas on how i should go about helping it out? Another thing should i be cutting off the dead stems?

ill trim off the brown stems. There is some new stems popping up ill keep an eye on them over the next month or so and hopefully it starts to get healthier again.
