Mine has already survived about 45 or so. I was planning on moving it inside before a forecast low of 40. I have noticed that the youngest leaves are already showing some nutrient deficiencies due to cold temperatures, so I have some anecdotal evidence that this variety does hate the cold. The Harvey lemon right next to it has much greener young foliage in the same conditions and the calamondin and blood orange nearby are an even, deep green.

I agree with Pac. Last winter the leaves on my Bearss Lemon also suffered with deficiencies when cold and then they would droop, a number would drop off after being subjected to colder temps in the very low 40's. Had a small amount of branch dieback on the younger branches. I cut the trees branches way back this spring since it was struggling and it also had a case of scale late this winter. It is a robust grower and has bounced back splendidly after many high summer temperature days. This year for the winter, I am keeping it in our upstairs loft that gets plenty of light and where the warm air rises. I want the few remaining baby lemons to hold on.. lol . Pac, I have come real close to ordering the Harvey Lemon tree that is supposed to be a bit more cold hardy.

PacNorWreck, same with mine. They are all still a rich green and no cold issues. But by the weekend I will have to decide whether I care if they stay that way and actively grow, or just leave them to the elements until it's too cold. Always a war within me. I wish we could keep these unseasonable warm temps for at least another month(
