Bathroom tile issue

Need help choosing a new tile for the small bathroom
The first tile is the floor tile, the second is feature wall. I need a tile for walls that is soothing, calming tile. The third tile is a tile picked out but looks too busy for us.
Any suggestions?

Your floor tile has a ton of grout lines is that even rated for floors?

Hard to recommend without knowing where everything goes and how the tiled feature wall relates to it all. Do you really need a third tile? Maybe paint will be enough or even a wallpaper?

    Hi,

I think that top tile is really lovely in the right setting but I don't know that the best use of that would be a floor tile. I don't think the floor is going to be the star of any show in a bathroom.

It looks like you are hooked on marble and I can understand that, marble is very pretty but best read some of the postings on Houzz where people talk about experiences with marble staining and becoming discoloured which means it may not be the best choice for a bathroom, even a small one.

Is there a shower, or is this just a powder room, 2 piece bath?

Could you find a marble-look tile for the floor especially, as that is the one that will take the hardest wear and would likely suffer if things are spilled. Even hairspray can cause real marble to etch, and many cleaning products will too, that is regardless of whether or not the marble is sealed.

When you say "feature wall" is that going to be a blank wall or is it the wall where the vanity or sink will go?

It would help if you post a floor plan and mark where you plan to use the different tiles you've chosen so far. I'm struggling to see how the middle one, the wood plank look one, is going to work with the other two, or even the one you've stated is for the floor.

Do you have an inspiration photo you could share as well? That will help others gauge your tastes and make suggestions.

Too many different styles of tile in one place, traditional, rustic, modern, especially if a small room. Choose one tile to feature, then plain tiles to go with that. The wood look doesn't go with either. The 1st and 3rd don't look right together. I get trying to mix different styles but choose one for tiles.

I think you would be very disappointed with that first tile as it looks very uneven with wonky tiles and very dodgy spacing. Maybe try for a relatively plain floor tile and use your wall tiles as the wow factor.

Ditch that floor tile. A nightmare to set because of the inconsistent spacing. Plus, it’s marble.

Rethink the design in its entirety.

The second marble tile has been eliminated. Only the small floor tile and the subway glass feature is all that’s left. I was assured the floor tile was great for the floor.they want to use a tile half way up the walls. Not sure of anything now!

Looks like you already installed the mosaic floor tile and pencil wall tile. The only thing left to put on the other non-feature walls would be classic plain white tile.

    Hi again Donna,

So you are going with the floor tile shown as well as the glass tile that looks like wood grain? I think if you are firm on those choices, and you want to run tile up the walls, I'd consider pulling a white tile to match the white in the floor tile, or a grey tile to match the grey accent in the floor tile. In fact, I think the grey would be the better choice for the wall tile, assuming you can find a grey that works with the grey glass tile you've got.

Can you give us an idea of your choices otherwise, like the vanity colour, counter choice and fixtures like lighting, handles, faucet etc, what metal are you choosing?

Here's a thought....that glass tile with the texture, by any chance does it also come in plain glass but the same colour? That might look quite nice if it is available. Who is the manufacturer for that tile? Maybe there will be other choices from the same manufacturer that would coordinate well.

Third tile is way to busy. What is already installed? With those busy tiles, you should only add a one color solid tile for the rest.

A marble tile floor in a bathroom used by guests will quickly get some etching, specially if they are boys/men and they pee standing up.

My father and some colleagues visited a fellow German colleague's house in Germany. The German guy was a very neat and tidy guy (maybe a touch over the edge!) and when the guests arrived he told all the men to make sure to pee sitting down. No kidding!

So sorry for the confusion. The pencil tile is gone. The floor chosen by contractor, not sure I like it after hearing all the problems with it. The only tile left is the feature glass tile, has similar wood look but not wood style at all, glass. Looks like water when behind a white soaking tub.
Now, no other tile for the bathroom. Just the two. Could not find anything that seemed to work with the floor tile.
Any suggestions? I love the glass white tile that M.V suggested. Trying to decide if to just paint the room, use the glass tile for one wall. Never again will I listen to a contractor that does not know tile specifics. Never again will I choose a tile without asking the folks who shared their concerns with me!!
If there is anything else i should do please tell me.
Now on to a vanity... Looking on line want a white or gray solid wood, not pressed board.
