It’s not bad where it is, but I thing tucked under the short wall would be better. Either way, I’m seeing a wrought iron headboard. I’d also replace that closet door with something more period-appropriate.

We had it under the slanted wall on left. Needed a change. I love the idea of the iron headboard. What about the window treatments? What makes sense there? And the closet door? Tell me more. What should I be looking for?

For the window, I’d just do side panels to the floor. The width will be dictated by the slant of the sloped ceilings—you want to go wide, but not ham the rods right into the ceiling either. As for the closet doors, I don’t know. I just know what’s there looks like (I could be wrong, the photo’s not that clear) Home Depot bifold doors, and I’m pretty sure there was no Home Depot in cape cod when the pilgrims were setting up. I’d research photos, but I’m thinking either a painted finish in something-not-white (white paint us actually a 20th century invention) or maybe a curtain.

I would recommend looking on Facebook or craiglist for some furniture- a long low dresser or two and some matchinf night stands and a nice iron headboard and new sheets (and bedskirt)

rachelh916 what's the nearest city to you? I always check Craigslist before shopping for new furniture. Look for a pair of small dressers to act as nightstands.
