I wouldn't do a lamp or plug in sconce...it's a bit of a hazard.

Babies are stimulated by some color. The chair is huge...it seems too large for the space. Do you have a changing table or dresser with drawers for the baby's clothes? I would put a rocker in the corner while the child is young. It would be better if there was a light fixture on the ceiling or wall, but nothing with cords or plugs. A rocking chair is good for rocking the baby to sleep, reading stories or looking at picture books, and comforting an upset child. Add some colorful art, a soft blanket on a smaller comfortable chair and washable quilt or blanket in the crib.
